About
Stone Ledge Farm Lesson Academy & Summer Camp Program includes a lesson program, a summer camp program, and an academy program focused on riding and competition riding. Participants work with Morgan horses, including training and showing Morgan horses, and may also take part in group events or parties at Stone Ledge. The program also offers brokerage services for Morgan horses.

James (Jamie) Gruenberg and Becky Gruenberg opened Stone Ledge Farm in the spring of 2000 and have worked together for over 20 years training and showing Morgan horses and launching the lesson and summer camp program. Their mission is to fill the aisles and stalls with good people and good horses and to spread the joy and satisfaction of being involved with the Morgan horse. The leadership team includes James (Jamie) Gruenberg as Owner/Trainer, Becky Gruenberg as Owner/Trainer, Bailey Schaller as Assistant Trainer, Christie Batka as Academy Program Director, and Allie Clutter as Groups Coordinator & Instructor.
James Gruenberg grew up working with horses and dairy cattle, was involved in FFA as chapter president, placed highly in state judging competitions, attended Saginaw Valley State University, and took an assistant trainer position at Ken-Mar Training Center. He is the current President of the Jubilee Regional Morgan Horse Show, serves on the AMHA Board of Directors for the Central Region, and was named 2024 UPHA Chapter 10 Horse Person of the Year. Becky Gruenberg trained with Stan and Paulette Bodnar of Merriehill Farm and with Sandy Sessink at Old Orchard Farm, was the 1994 Saddle Seat Equitation 16–17 Grand National Champion, Senior Saddle Seat Equitation Reserve World Champion, Top 3 AMHA Saddle Seat Gold Medal Finals, and Reserve Champion in the UPHA Challenge Cup, attended Iowa State University, and became assistant trainer at Old Orchard. Christie Batka has been riding nearly her entire life and competing for almost 20 years in hunt seat, western pleasure, showmanship, equitation, in-hand, and reining, worked as a teaching assistant at DePaul University, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, is a certified rock climbing instructor, and is a Safe Sport Certified Instructor. Allie Clutter has been riding since age 4, continues to show both saddle seat and hunt seat, is a wildlife biology major at Rock Valley College, and serves as Groups Coordinator & Instructor.
Stone Ledge Farm is described as a premier Morgan Horse training and academy stable and the home of World Champion horses, with an extensive academy program and a calendar packed with events for riders and owners. Gift cards are available. James is President of the Jubilee Morgan Horse Show and serves on the AMHA Board of Directors for the Central Region, Becky serves on the USEF Saddle Seat Equitation committee, and Christie is the Marketing Coordinator for the AMHA Young Adult Alliance.
