About
Streator Family YMCA Youth Development Programs include activities such as craft projects, fine motor skills activities, outside time, and an optional swim lesson add-on that follows some camp days. Campers are asked to come prepared for these activities, including swim days when swim lessons are scheduled.
• Ages: 3–12 years old
• Schedule: Camp meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00–11:00 AM with an optional swim lesson add-on from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM; registration for each camp closes the Wednesday before camp starts.
Participants are asked to bring a bag or backpack, a snack, a reusable water bottle, and sunscreen each day, and to wear swimsuits under their clothes on swim days with a towel and underwear to change into afterward. The staff team is trained in childcare, mandated reporting, CPR, and first aid. The Streator Family YMCA states a mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The organization holds Praesidium Accreditation® in abuse prevention and is part of a nonprofit network of over 2,700 Ys in 10,000 communities across the United States.
