The Academy of Dance Arts

The Academy of Dance Arts offers dance classes that include full-length ballet productions and participation in regional and national dance competitions. The program includes world-class dance education with performance opportunities and a wide variety of dance classes for everyone from the pre-professional to the tiny tot. The Academy offers a complimentary placement evaluation and studio tour by appointment and is unable to accommodate drop-in students or tours at this time.

• Schedule: Academy office hours are Monday–Thursday 12:00–9:00 PM, Friday 12:00–7:00 PM, and Saturday 8:30 AM–6:00 PM.

Founded in 1999 by Artistic Director Sherry Moray, The Academy of Dance Arts states its mission as “Educating dance artists...mind, body & spirit.” The program is led by internationally trained faculty. It has been recognized as a premier ballet studio for its excellence in ballet training and has received the “Outstanding School Award” from the Youth America Grand Prix in 2000, 2003, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2024, and 2025. Artistic Director Sherry Moray received the YAGP “Outstanding Teacher Award” in 2000, 2009, 2012, 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2022, and the faculty received the YAGP “Outstanding Teacher Award” in 2022 and 2023. The Academy’s “Fairy Dance” was named a Top 12 Classical Ensemble at the YAGP 2024 Finals in New York City. The Academy of Dance Arts serves families from Warrenville, Naperville, Downers Grove, Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, and Hinsdale.
