Founded in 1980, South Central Soccer Academy is the area's largest privately owned and managed youth soccer club. SCSA provides recreational soccer for children ages 4 to 16 and a range of competitive travel soccer teams for boys and girls ages 8 to 18, and in the spring it hosts high school age teams featuring some of the finest high school players from area schools. In 2008, Center Grove Soccer Club merged the two travel soccer programs, Center Grove Travel and South Central Select, to form South Central Soccer Academy as a unified, seamless, premier travel academy. The club is managed and operated by a volunteer board of directors and volunteers.

SCSA's mission is to provide a safe, fun, and competitive environment where kids can grow their love for the game of soccer with an emphasis on community, inclusion, and player development. SCSA's vision is to prepare the children of the community for the future by providing them with opportunities to develop important life skills through soccer. Parents and relatives of an SCSA soccer player commit to a code of conduct that includes encouraging fair play, cheering in a positive manner for all players, not criticizing players or opponents, allowing coaches to do the coaching, showing respect for game officials, and displaying good sportsmanship.

Every year, in June and October, the club hosts two nationally recognized youth soccer tournaments that draw over 10,000 soccer players and families from around the country. South Central Soccer Academy has a new indoor facility for year-round training opportunities, and all travel teams use this indoor facility during the winter. The club has programs for recreational soccer and specific development training, as well as year-round training opportunities.

All proceeds from the Memorial Day camp go to support SCSA Coach Thulani's Biya 4 Academy in Zimbabwe. SCSA intends to achieve its vision by encouraging members of the community to take an active part in the growth of soccer in the southern Indianapolis area through volunteer opportunities, strategic partnerships with local businesses, and adherence to Indiana Soccer on statewide initiatives. Additionally, SCSA encourages its players to participate in both club and community initiatives.
