Southeastern Indiana Dance, Inc. was established in 2008 and operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation with a scholarship program for motivated or financially disadvantaged students. The organization states that its mission is to foster a life-long love of dance and movement and to build talent and life skills such as discipline and respect for children and adults. The Director, Lydia Woodward, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance Education, a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance, and is certified K–12 in three states. The leadership team includes Lydia Woodward as Director and Instructor for ballet, modern, jazz, and musical theater, and Emme Belew as Office Supervisor and Instructor for ballet, musical theatre, hip hop, and acrobatics.

Southeastern Indiana Dance, Inc. is described as a comprehensive dance facility with two studios side-by-side. The program offers performance opportunities with recitals after every fall and spring session and an 8-week dance program in the summer. It implements a plan for pointe/ballet students to be screened for readiness with an orthopaedic and sports medicine team. Activities are made possible in part by the Columbus Area Arts Council, the Indiana Arts Commission, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Ripley County Community Foundation.

The organization operates under a COVID Safe Plan that includes daily temperature checks, individual workstations and activity spaces, classes held inside the dance studio and outside when weather permits, sanitizing of spaces throughout the day, and mask requirements for students and staff. Testimonials from families and former students describe experiences with instruction from Miss Lydia, the variety of programs, the involvement of more experienced dancers assisting in classes, and the use of screenings for pointe readiness with an orthopaedic and sports medicine team.
