Bloomington Parks and Recreation Sports Programs include activities such as baseball, youth baseball leagues, basketball, indoor basketball leagues, pickup games, golf, golf lessons, golf camps, golf clinics, Tae Kwon Do, pickleball, indoor and outdoor pickleball, soccer, indoor and outdoor soccer leagues, soccer programs, softball, USA Softball-sanctioned adult leagues, USA Softball umpire training, swimming, swimming lessons for all ages and skill levels, tennis with outdoor courts for public play, volleyball, and adult volleyball leagues. The programs also offer Learn to Swim: Guardian and Toddler, Level 1, Level 2 Fundamental Aquatic Skills, Level 3 Stroke Development, and Level 4 Stroke Improvement, as well as Summer Ball Hockey, ball hockey, FSC Summer Box Lacrosse, box lacrosse, FSC Summer Broom Ball, and an adult summer Broom Ball league. Scholarships for youth are available from the Bloomington Parks Foundation.

The Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department is led by Mayor Kerry Thomson. Its mission states that it manages more than 2,200 acres of parks and trails and plans programs and events that keep Bloomington a healthy, active community. Sports partners include Bloomington Disc Golf Club, Bloomington Football Club, Bloomington Junior League Baseball Association, Bloomington Pickleball Club, Bloomington Soccer, Monroe County Senior League Baseball Association, and Special Olympics Indiana-Monroe County.
