About
Carmel Swim Academy Swim Lessons offers swim lessons focused on swimming skills. The program uses a proprietary curriculum where swimmers take part in swimming and are grouped by age and ability, with low instructor-to-child ratios and small class sizes that allow for more time in the water. The program includes introductory, intermediate, and advanced classes for every age and uses a common language shared with Carmel Swim Club’s competitive team.
• Ages: 1–18 years old
• Schedule: Session-based enrollment where families are not continuously enrolled but sign up for the classes that fit within their schedule
• Price: reasonably priced lessons
Carmel Swim Academy Swim Lessons is part of the larger Carmel Swim Club organization and benefits from Olympic-level expertise from the competitive team. The program follows a mission of “Creating a safer, healthier, and stronger community through swimming,” and is built by five decades of experience at all levels of swimming. Six core values scaffold the program, which offers a proven pathway for learning to swim safely and effectively, learning safety through the four competitive strokes, and a smooth transition to Carmel Swim Club if desired, with opportunities to stay connected with the water at every stage of life. The academy is a hometown swim school and not a franchised business, and it offers programs for every member of the family.
The leadership team includes Chris Plumb as Head Coach and CEO, Nicole Stein as Senior Director, Maggie Mestrich as Director of Business Development, and Brittany Van Meter as Aquatics Director. CEO Chris Plumb has coached at the highest levels of the sport, serving on Team USA's staff at the 2024 Olympic Games, and is recognized as a 2024 Olympic Assistant and World Championship Head Coach. Families in testimonials describe low child-to-teacher ratios, including a 3:1 ratio in younger classes, individualized attention, flexible scheduling, monthly reports with details on progress, and a simple process to make up classes. Multiple parents in the testimonials compare Carmel Swim Academy Swim Lessons favorably to other local or franchise swim schools and state that they highly recommend the program.
