Foundation For Youth (FFY) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has been a community pillar for youth and families across Bartholomew County and beyond since 1928. FFY’s mission is “To Inspire and Enable Our Youth, Our Community.” The Boys & Girls Club at FFY provides afterschool and full-day summer programs that include tutoring, homework help, and summer learning loss prevention for grades K–12. Columbus Youth Camp, connected with FFY, is set on 137 scenic acres and offers summer camps and outdoor adventures for retreats, field trips, and groups of various sizes. FFY uses TBRI: Foundation For Hope as a trauma-informed framework that focuses on consistent language, nurturing engagement, and emotional regulation strategies. Big Brothers Big Sisters at FFY offers 1:1 and small group youth mentoring programs. FFY is the licensed Safe Place agency operating the Safe Place national outreach and prevention program for youth in crisis in the community. FFY relies on community support, volunteers, and partnerships, and works with community members, coalitions, and partners to promote positive mental health and address substance abuse and misuse in Bartholomew County. Foundation For Youth is designated a Platinum Level participant, indicating a documented commitment to transparency. Janine Proto serves as Volunteer Resource Manager.
