Bright Start Child Care Ministry offers active hands-on learning in large and spacious classrooms with developmentally appropriate play centers and toys. Children play in these centers, engage with toys, and take part in large motor activities. They also run, jump, and play outdoors, climb the playset, and ride around the track, and they use an indoor playground that includes a slide, ball pit, mini rock-climbing wall, and carpeted roads.
• Ages: 0–5 years old
• Schedule: Open 6:00 am–6:00 pm
• Price: $20 off weekly tuition when 2 siblings enroll full time, $30 off with 3, $40 off with 4; families receive a $50 tuition credit each time a referred family enrolls
The program uses a curriculum in all classrooms with activities that are described as different and flexible and that encourage active hands-on learning, based on the idea that all children are unique with individual abilities and can develop at their own pace. Teachers create curriculum based on each child’s developmental progress and provide different levels of educational content using the state of Indiana’s “Foundations” to support Kindergarten readiness. Curriculum tools are based on research and best practices and include benchmarks in English/Language, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Art, Creative Arts, Social/Emotional, Large/Small motor, and Personal Care and Safety.
Bright Start Child Care Ministry uses livestream video (PB&J technology) in every classroom so parents can tune in and see their child in action. The Procare parent app provides real-time updates about meals, naps, and more, along with daily pictures. Future siblings of enrolled children are guaranteed a spot, and the sibling tuition discount can total up to $2000 a year. Families also receive a $50 credit on tuition for each enrolling referred family.
The Director, Amanda Clapp, leads the program and has 21+ years of early childhood experience.
