About
Columbus Youth Camp Specialty Camps include activities such as a zip line, team challenge course, paddling on the lake, and using the mountain bike trail. Campers also use challenge courses and an outdoor theater as part of the program. The natural environment is the classroom, passion, and tool for teaching at Columbus Youth Camp, and exploration is the driving force for all activities.
• Schedule: Occasional field trips as part of CYC Specialty Camps
Columbus Youth Camp has offered fun, laughter, and learning since 1935. Foundation For Youth, which operates programs including Columbus Youth Camp Specialty Camps, has been a community pillar for youth and families across Bartholomew County and beyond since 1928. The camp property includes 137 acres of rolling landscape, with seven miles of trails linking eleven cabins, a mountain bike trail, two challenge courses, a lake, an outdoor theater, a shelter house, a yucca center, an experiential learning center, a playscape, and the Reeves Conference Center. CYC Specialty Camps let kids dive into themed weeks from STEM and sports to arts, cooking, and outdoor adventure, and may include occasional field trips.
Having staff certified through the Child and Youth Care Certification Board (CYCCB) reflects that team members have met nationally recognized professional standards in areas such as youth development, relationship building, crisis intervention, and ethical practice. Foundation For Youth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and STAY Youth is designated a Platinum Level participant, demonstrating a commitment to transparency. The organization’s mission is “To Inspire and Enable Our Youth, Our Community.”
M.E.T.A.S. (Making Education Thrive Around Summertime), a partnership between Foundation For Youth and Su Casa Columbus, helps prevent summer learning loss for Latino students in Bartholomew County and offers free transportation, free meals, and culturally responsive support for participants. Foundation For Youth relies on community support, volunteers, and partnerships to sustain its programs and expand its outreach.
