About

First Tee – Indiana Columbus Youth Golf Programs offers golf instruction combined with First Tee life skills lessons. Participants take part in structured classes that include golf activities and a life skills curriculum.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Seasonal sessions offered in multi-day blocks during February, March, April, May, June, and July, including weekday afternoon and evening classes, Saturday morning classes, and condensed 3- to 5-day camps

First Tee is a youth development organization that integrates the game of golf with a life skills curriculum. First Tee – Indiana operates under the Indiana Golf Foundation, which has over 20 years of experience providing golf programs to Indiana youth and has awarded over $600,000 in scholarships since 1994. In 2012, First Tee – Indiana came under the Indiana Golf Foundation umbrella. In 2016, First Tee – Indiana in Columbus established a partnership with the Columbus Parks Department. The Indiana Golf Foundation hosts a junior tour that offers 70 competitive events and reaches over 1,200 kids annually.

Classes at Harrison Lake Country Club are led by Nodjya Cook, PGA. Classes at Rocky Ford Golf Course are led by PGA Professional and Level 1 Coach, Keith VanDeventer. First Tee – Indiana in Columbus has partnerships with Harrison Lake Country Club and Otter Creek Golf Course to offer more classes throughout the year. First Tee – Indiana is part of Indiana Golf, which includes the Indiana Golf Association, the Indiana Section PGA, and the Indiana Golf Foundation. First Tee – Indiana is under the Indiana Golf Foundation, which is described as a national leader in junior golf. First Tee participants receive complimentary Youth on Course membership.
