About
Foundation For Youth Athletics offers sports leagues, out of school activities, camps, prevention services, mentoring services, and athletics and aquatics programs. Programs include activities such as Columbus Youth Camp, where kids explore 137 acres of forest, trails, and water, as well as Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring matches.
• Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Customer Service Hours)
Foundation For Youth has been active in serving youth and families since 1928. Its mission is “To Inspire and Enable Our Youth, Our Community.” Programs are grounded in four cornerstones: Commitment to Learning, Character and Leadership, Positive Identity, and Healthy Lifestyles. Athletics and aquatics programs focus on discipline, cooperation, and confidence to lead, and programs reach thousands of children each year. Data from the organization show that Club Kids who attend 52 times or more annually are significantly more likely to graduate from high school, and youth matched with a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters are far less likely to be involved in the juvenile justice system.
Staff are certified through the Child and Youth Care Certification Board (CYCCB), a nationally recognized certification in youth development, relationship building, crisis intervention, and ethical practice. Foundation For Youth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is designated a Platinum Level participant, demonstrating a commitment to transparency. FFY relies on community support, volunteers, and partnerships, and many former participants are now local business leaders, educators, medical professionals, public servants, and community organizers.
