Foundation For Youth (FFY) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has served youth and families since 1928 and includes sports leagues, out-of-school activities, camps, prevention, and mentoring services. FFY states its mission as: “To Inspire and Enable Our Youth, Our Community,” and grounds its work in four cornerstones: Commitment to Learning, Character and Leadership, Positive Identity, and Healthy Lifestyles. FFY participates at the Platinum Level for transparency and is the licensed Safe Place agency operating the national Safe Place outreach and prevention program for youth in crisis in the local community. Through the Council for Youth Development and other coalitions and partners, FFY aligns efforts that use the 40 Developmental Assets and Developmental Relationships training and resources and works with community members to promote positive mental health and address substance abuse and misuse in Bartholomew County. Janine Proto serves as Volunteer Resource Manager, and FFY also offers TBRI: Foundation For Hope, a trauma-informed framework that uses consistent language, nurturing engagement, and emotional regulation strategies.
