Since 2007, Graduation Alliance has partnered with schools, agencies, and communities nationwide. Its mission is that Graduation Alliance creates alternative pathways to educational attainment. The program uses The American Academy, an online high school that is fully accredited by Cognia. Graduation Alliance is recognized by organizations like Cognia, B-Corp, and Quality Matters, and in early 2021 it became a Certified B Corporation. Graduation Alliance partners with schools, colleges, workforce agencies, state agencies, school districts, community colleges, workforce boards, educators, government agencies, and community leaders across the nation to expand access to education and career pathways, recruit, re-enroll, educate, and mentor students, and help communities re-engage individuals, build local talent, and drive lasting success. Its programs are described as accredited, online diploma programs supported by teachers, coaches, and 24/7 tutors, with full-service diploma completion options that can be delivered in facility-based, blended, or fully online settings and supported with recruiting, transcript analysis, technology, coaching and mentoring, and other support services. The organization states that it offers flexible and versatile pathways to high school graduation for youth and adults, with a focus on empowering adults through education and opportunity, a commitment to offering diverse pathways to education, and a vision of nationwide access to flexible learning pathways for learners of all ages, and that its success is measured by the success of the students and partners served.
Testimonials from participants include: “After the program, it really made me realize like if I don’t get my work done by myself or for myself, it will never get done. And it just really helped me step up and upgrade myself and really make sure that I was putting my responsibilities first.” (Endea W., Michigan High School Graduate). Another graduate shared, “I just feel like everything is just at my fingertips, like I can do anything, I feel like the job that I've been wanting to do for so long is now something that I can do because I have the diploma and I feel like that's the one thing that was stopping me...” (Megan M., Arizona Workforce Diploma Program Graduate). A third graduate stated, “Ever since I got my diploma, my life has changed for the better. I am now able to get good paying jobs. I've grown more confident in my ability to govern myself and my ability to learn... which wouldn’t have been possible without Graduation Alliance.” (James W., Washington High School Graduate).
