About
Ivy Tech Columbus Summer Camps offers hands-on sessions where participants explore agriculture and welding fundamentals, engineering fundamentals, and robotics building and programming through interactive projects and problem-solving challenges. Campers learn how to fly drones, understand flight technology, and explore real-world drone applications, and they discover skills in design, machining, and welding while learning about modern manufacturing careers. Participants also learn about cyber safety, cyber ethics, and critical network security skills and tools, with some camps culminating in a team-based competition in the role of IT administrators finding and addressing cybersecurity vulnerabilities in simulated network environments.
• Ages: 11–18 years old
• Schedule: Short sessions ranging from 1-day to 5-day camps offered on specific dates and times in June and July 2026
• Price: All camps are free of charge.
The camps are led by college faculty and instructors, including Matt John, Associate Professor of Agriculture; Tyler Rodgers, Instructor of Welding; Matthew Medley, Assistant Professor of Aviation Operations; Aakash Gupta, Cummins Green2Gold Founding Program Chair; Pat Walters, Assistant Professor of Advanced Automation & Robotics; and Mike Riley, Assistant Professor of Advanced Manufacturing. Water and snacks are provided at the Ag & Weld Camp, Aviation Drone Pilot Camp, Green2Gold Engineering Camp, Green2Gold Engineering: Design, Machining & Welding Camp, and Robotics Building & Programming Camp, and snacks are provided at the Air Force Association CyberPatriot Camp and the Air Force Association Advanced CyberPatriot Camp. Each camp has limited enrollment, with most sessions capped between 12 and 15 students, and registration is required for all listed camps.
