The Salvation Army Summer Camps include both day and overnight summer camp options. Campers take part in swimming, canoeing, hiking, archery, other sports, arts and crafts, music, drama, team-building activities, leadership training, community service projects, and scouting. Camp programs include outdoor recreation, educational activities, and hands-on projects that are programmed to spark curiosity and collaboration and foster education.

• Price: The Salvation Army’s network of free summer camps allows kids of all ages, despite their family’s income level, to have a safe, fun, unforgettable summer camp experience. Our free summer camps also help strengthen family bonds while providing enriching experiences. Most of the summer camps accept state-provided child care subsidies, and scholarships are also available to help families offset the cost.

The Salvation Army camp counselors are equipped to help children navigate the complicated emotions and struggles that can arise for those who experience poverty and related hardships. The Salvation Army camp counselors are trained to recognize the effects of the stressors of poverty on children and respond to a child’s emotional needs so kids feel safe, included, and welcome.

The Salvation Army’s mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church, and its message is based on the Bible and motivated by the love of God.

The Salvation Army also serves local families through Kroc Community Centers and over 400 after-school programs nationwide.
