Culver Summer Schools & Camps offers activities such as sailing, rocketry, theatre, and fencing. Campers choose from 100 electives across the three summer camps. Summer programs bring together more than 1,400 young people from around the world through physical activity, learning opportunities, and new friendships.
• Ages: 7–17 years old
• Schedule: Junior Woodcraft Camp runs June 10–13, 2026 as a four-day program; Woodcraft Camp runs June 19–August 1, 2026 as a six-week program; Upper Schools runs June 19–August 1, 2026 as a six-week program.
Junior Woodcraft Camp is a four-day program that allows children ages 7–9 to experience a “fun-sized” version of Culver’s Woodcraft Camp. Woodcraft Camp is a six-week leadership development program and activity-based camp for youth ages 9–14. Upper Schools is a six-week leadership development program and activity-based camp for youth ages 14–17. Culver Summer Schools & Camps includes three camps and enrolls 1,500 campers from more than 40 states and more than 35 countries.
Culver Summer Schools & Camps emphasizes courtesy, personal organization, and the ability to make well-thought-out choices. The program focuses on building self-confidence and learning the importance of followership before leadership. Campers work cooperatively as a team, consider the perspectives of others, and gain an appreciation for different cultures and traditions. Culver Summer Schools & Camps is described as character in action, citizenship at play, and leadership lived together, side by side, and states that the time shared there and its impact are profound and life-changing.
Culver’s mission states that it educates its students for leadership and responsible citizenship in society by developing and nurturing the whole individual – mind, spirit, and body – through integrated programs that emphasize the cultivation of character. Culver Academies is values-based, mission-driven, and vision-inspired, and is a co-educational, residential experience for students in grades 9–12. Culver Academies offers 1,800 acres of opportunity, 835 students, 20% international students, a 6:1 student-teacher ratio, and 100% of students live on campus. It offers 194 courses in total, including 57 courses in the arts, 24 Advanced Placement classes, and 200 hours of leadership instruction by senior year, along with 64 sports teams and 4 equestrian teams.
Culver Military Academy was founded in 1894, and Culver Girls Academy welcomed its first students in 1971. Culver has taught wisdom, courage, moderation, and justice on horseback since 1897, and its equestrians have made 18 presidential inaugural appearances. Culver Academies has been feeding hundreds of hungry mouths three times a day, seven days a week from its Dining Hall for more than a century.
