Inclusive Programs

Inclusive Programs includes Inclusive/Adaptive Recreation, Inclusive/Adaptive Aquatics: Swim Buddies, Inclusive/Adaptive Aquatics: Youth & Unified Triathlons, Inclusive/Adaptive Gymnastics: Sensory Open Gym, Inclusive/Adaptive Gymnastics: Gym Buddies, Inclusive/Adaptive Ice instruction, Sled Hockey, Soccer Buddies, Basketball Buddies, and Buddy Baseball. Swim Buddies is adapted aquatic time for children, teens, and young adults with disabilities. Youth Triathlon includes a swim, bike, and run, and athletes with special needs can participate assisted or unassisted.

Programs

• Inclusive/Adaptive Recreation — All recreational activities are designed to be inclusive. Please call (812-376-2680) with any questions on accommodations.
• Inclusive/Adaptive Aquatics: Swim Buddies — Ages 5-25 · Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:15-10:15am; Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:30-11:30am · $40 · Adapted aquatic time for children, teens and young adults with disabilities. Pre-registration is required and class size is limited.
• Inclusive/Adaptive Aquatics: Youth & Unified Triathlons — Ages 6-14; Unified Triathlon Ages 6-18 · $35 · Youth Triathlon consists of a swim, bike, and run. Athletes with special needs can participate assisted or unassisted.
• Inclusive/Adaptive Gymnastics: Sensory Open Gym — Children ages 2 to 14 · Parent participation open gym experience in a space dedicated to children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, or special sensory needs. Check the calendar under Open Gyms for dates and times.
• Inclusive/Adaptive Gymnastics: Gym Buddies — 5-12 Years · Recreational class for individuals with sensory and/or special needs. Parent/co-adult required for 1:1 participation.
• Inclusive/Adaptive Ice: Adaptive Instruction for Group Lessons — For those who are comfortable in a group instruction setting that need a little extra support, an additional instructor or aide can be provided during group lessons.
• Inclusive/Adaptive Ice: Individualized Adaptive Instruction — One-on-one ice skating lessons for individuals with disabilities who might need more specialized instruction or a calmer, quieter environment than group lessons.
• Inclusive/Adaptive Ice: Sled Hockey — Adaptation of ice hockey using an open frame sled. No experience is necessary and all equipment, including helmets and gloves, will be provided.
• Inclusive/Adaptive Sports: Soccer Buddies — Ages 5+ · Sundays, 1-2pm · $20 · Four-week clinic for children and adults with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities. Players are paired with non-disabled buddies.
• Inclusive/Adaptive Sports: Basketball Buddies — Ages 5+ · Sundays · $20 · 4 week program for kids/young adults with special needs. Ages 5-9: 1-2pm; Ages 10+: 2-3pm.
• Inclusive/Adaptive Sports: Buddy Baseball — Ages 5+ · Sundays, 1-2:30 pm · $20 · 4 week program for kids/young adults with special needs who would like to learn fundamental baseball skills and make new friends!
