Fishers Summer Camps are available for children ages 3 and up, with half-day camps for preschoolers ages 3–5 and creative, week-long Fishers Art Center camps with half-day and full-day options for ages 4 to 18. Campers are grouped by age, typically 5–6, 7–9, and 10–12, and City of Fishers Camps follow American Camp Association guidelines for camper-to-staff ratios, with typical ratios of 1:5 for ages 3–4, 1:6 for ages 5–6, 1:8 for ages 7–8, and 1:10 for ages 9–14. All City of Fishers camp staff are certified in CPR and First Aid.

Families are asked to send campers with a reusable water bottle labeled with their name, a shelf-stable lunch and two snacks, sunscreen, comfortable weather-appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes, a backpack, and an extra set of clothes, and Fishers Camps do not provide meals or snacks. Campers are expected to wear their Fishers Camp shirt each day, along with clothes that can get messy, and may also bring a hat, sunglasses, and layers for cooler mornings, with all items labeled with the child’s name. Electronics such as cell phones, tablets, gaming devices, and smartwatches are strongly encouraged to be left at home, and buddy requests, cancellations, and transfers are handled through a Summer Camp Request Form rather than by verbal, email, phone, or in-person requests.

The Fishers Community Center, where some camps are held, includes an indoor playground, indoor track, aquatics center with multiple water features, fitness center, sports courts, sauna, Sahm’s Community Café, and community rooms, and offers a free Community Pass for residents and non-residents to access the indoor track and indoor playground with reservations. The Fishers Community Center is a 105,000 square foot facility, is aligned with the city’s Culture of Health initiative, and was created with Fishers residents’ needs and well-being guiding its creation, design, and construction. The Fishers Health Department is located on the first floor of the Fishers Community Center and provides flu and COVID vaccinations, testing, and other health services, and dog park memberships are also available.

Fishers Camps operates under the mission “to champion a healthy, vibrant, and inclusive community through fun, recreation, and social activities,” with a vision of a dynamic, year-round destination where all thrive physically, socially, and emotionally, and a place for support and inspiration. The leadership team includes Director Mike Lindbloom; Assistant Director Marion Fowler; Membership Manager Jen Mealy; Assistant Membership Manager Emily Wright; Health and Fitness Manager Jenna Hass; Assistant Health & Fitness Manager Natalie Aguilar; Aquatics Manager Paula Hardin; Assistant Aquatics Manager Garland Wilson; and Business Manager Debbie Keranova.
