Miss Polly's Music Class is an early childhood music and movement program where children take part in steady beat awareness, pitch awareness, instrument play, rhythm and tonal repeats, and other musical activities. Classes also include language and socialization activities, fine and gross motor movement, listening, singing, and bonding with caregivers.
• Ages: 0–4 years old
Miss Polly's Music Class, LLC opened in 2008 as an early childhood music and movement program for children ages 0–4. The program uses the award-winning The Music Class curriculum in all class sessions across the Franklin, Columbus, and Indianapolis locations. Miss Polly (Polly Martin Jones) is in her 18th year of owning and operating Miss Polly's Music Class, LLC.
The teaching team includes Miss Christina, who has a Bachelor of Science in Vocal Performance and Theatre from Indiana University, and Emma, who graduated from Franklin College studying Vocal Music with minors in Theatre and Quantitative Methods. Miss Haley has an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University, and Miss Maddie has an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Indiana University Bloomington. Miss Polly has both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Butler University, with a Bachelors in Music Education/Voice and a Masters in Educational Administration.
Miss Polly's Music Class states that it aims to offer high-energy and fabulously-fun musical activities that enhance the growth and development of the young child. The program states that it strives to foster a warm and welcoming environment for children and their caregivers and to cultivate a safe and fun space for children to learn and grow. Families have the option to enroll or schedule a free trial class.
In community connections, Miss Haley has lived in Columbus her whole life and is described as thrilled to be providing this class in her community. Originating from the Chicagoland area, Miss Maddie and her husband Nick decided to move to Columbus after college and have grown to love the area and the people in it.
