Edgewood Preschool Cooperative

Edgewood Preschool Cooperative offers kindergarten-readiness programs where children create, sing, observe, move, discuss, read, and play independently and cooperatively. Daily activities include imaginary play, stories, reading books, telling stories, singing songs, sorting, matching, planning, sequencing, estimating, and measuring. Children also work with letters, numbers, shapes, sizes, colors, rhyming sounds, the passage of time, and word opposites, and they take part in cooking adventures, science experiments, and visits to interesting places.

Edgewood Preschool Cooperative was established in 1962. It is a non-profit, parent-participation preschool with classrooms that have a fun, relaxed, and nurturing atmosphere. The program describes its environment as a child-sized world based on the freedom to create, sing, observe, move, discuss, read, and play independently and cooperatively, and states that learning is kept active and fun. Edgewood Preschool Cooperative is affiliated with the Indiana Council of Preschool Cooperatives and Parent Cooperative Preschools International and states that it does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, national origin, ancestry, age, or United States military service veteran status.
