Founded in 1989, Iibada Dance Company has served the Indianapolis community for 35 years, and for 36 years has served and produced artists within its communities. Iibada Dance Company is a Children's African and Modern Dance performance company and has classes for ages 3–18 for all skill levels. The academy program is for students who desire to study the art of dance and become a performing artist, and the organization creates opportunity for students to achieve and sustain performing arts careers locally.

The mission of Iibada Dance Company is to provide cultural enrichment, discipline, arts education, and opportunities to build and empower youth, families, and communities through the art of dance and to build skills for life to help unlock their full potential. IDC programs are designed to provide access, exposure, and opportunity to youth and young adults in Indianapolis, surrounding communities, and beyond, with a focus on providing access to dance education to all youth throughout these areas. The organization is a predominantly African American organization with a focus on providing quality arts programming to low-income families in underserved communities, and it welcomes all aspiring dancers regardless of background, ability, religion, gender, orientation, or race.

Iibada Dance Company has served three generations of students who have grown into performers and professionals throughout the nation. Its students have danced for companies such as Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, Philadanco, and Dayton Contemporary Dance Theatre, and have been cast in productions such as The Lion King, The Color Purple, Dream Girls, and Chicago. Iibada hosts a Summer Dance Camp and partners with other summer programs to introduce dance to their participants. The organization states that contributions help artistically enrich youth in underserved areas, provide tuition assistance for families, and support after-school programming for partnering schools throughout Indianapolis.
