About

Indianapolis Music Academy offers private music lessons for guitar, drums, piano, violin, voice, ukulele, and electric bass. Students take one-on-one lessons in dedicated lesson studios, and can also participate in recitals and concerts. Lesson rooms are stocked with the instruments and materials needed, and a ukulele or guitar is provided for the first lesson if a student does not have one.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Month-to-month private lessons with options Monday–Friday afternoons and evenings, and on weekends

The academy has a teaching staff of over 20 highly qualified professionals, including instructors with professional performance experience or university training, and many with over 20 years on stage and in the studio. Every instructor is carefully vetted and has extensive training, degrees, and real-world performance experience. The program offers personalized one-on-one instruction for ages 5 to adult, with no long-term contract and month-to-month enrollment.

The studios are fully equipped and used only for music education, and the family-friendly waiting room is clean, spacious, and has free Wi‑Fi, with over 1,000 square feet of studio space. The academy is open six days a week and is described as the number one choice for music lessons in Indianapolis, and as offering top-rated music lessons in Indianapolis and Greenwood, Indiana. Families across Indianapolis and Greenwood use the academy for instruction, and about half of the students are adults who are either starting an instrument for the first time or learning new skills.

Indianapolis Music Academy runs an Exclusive Achievement & Rewards Program where students earn certificates, colored wristbands for each new level, and trophies for major milestones. Students have performance opportunities at twice-yearly recitals and concerts that are free to participate in and open to family and friends, with red carpet photo opportunities at events and a free annual photo day with professional sittings and digital portraits. The stated mission is to offer fun and easy, step-by-step lessons for all ages that go at each student’s pace, with warm, patient instructors and a passionate, friendly team, and if a family is not completely satisfied after the first month, any unused lessons from that month are refunded.

Parent and student testimonials describe patient and encouraging teachers for piano, bass, drums, guitar, and violin, and mention steady improvement, increased confidence, and positive experiences with instructors. One parent notes that a therapist observed that guitar lessons were helping a child with fine motor skill delays, another highlights a patient piano teacher for a 9-year-old with no prior experience, and others mention that lessons have made school music class easier and that students have learned a lot in just a few months.
