Music for All Youth Programs include activities in marching band musicianship, marching performance excellence, and student leadership development. Programs also include national events such as the National Concert Band Festival, Orchestra America National Festival, Sandy Feldstein National Percussion Festival, Chamber Music National Festival, and national honor ensembles including the Honor Band of America, Honor Orchestra of America, and Jazz Band of America. Additional offerings include music education advocacy, teacher professional development, webinars, podcasts, and choir resources with pedagogical techniques and lessons for in person and virtual learning, with videos donated by clinicians and available free of charge.
Music for All’s mission is to create, provide, and expand positively life-changing experiences through music for all. Music for All’s programs include more than 30 annual events, serving more than 500,000 attendees each year, including Bands of America Grand National Championships and Regional Championships for marching bands, the Music for All Summer Symposium, the Music for All National Festival and Affiliate Regional Music Festivals for concert ensembles, and national honor ensembles for students. Bands of America (BOA) marching band championships are described as America’s premier events for high school marching bands, and Bands of America Championships are described as offering positively life-changing experiences for the students, teachers, parents, fans, and spectators who participate. The Bands of America Honor Band marched for the fifth time in the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day 2022, and the Bands of America Summer Camp, presented by Yamaha, is described as the most-intensive, non-stop, make-you-better approach to marching band musicianship, marching performance excellence, and student leadership development. Advocacy in Action is a signature awards program of Music for All that collects, recognizes, and shares effective practices and initiatives that support music education in schools.
Music for All was founded in 1975 and has had more than 1.3 million attendees in its 46-year history. Music for All is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization and believes that music and arts education is core to students' education and must be available to all students. Music for All is committed to informing and empowering students, parents, and teachers to be engaged advocates for the arts and music education in their communities and across the nation.
