Tutored by Teachers delivers live, synchronous, video-based instruction with the same, consistent teacher throughout the term, and all programs are aligned with state standards, including Michigan State Standards. The Virtual Intervention program provides K–12 students with targeted, skills-based, high-dosage tutoring aligned to Math and ELA standards, and the Summer Academy offers a 20-day summer sequence with Math and ELA curriculum that can be done in school or at home. The curriculum uses the Science of Reading for foundational literacy skills, and the Math curriculum is aligned with Renaissance Learning’s Focus Skills analysis and Achieve the Core, with regular progress monitoring and a stated 100% teacher attendance rate. Tutored by Teachers has a network of more than 6,800 live U.S.-certified or U.S.-credentialed teachers available during the school year and summer, with an average of 12 years of classroom experience. According to provided data, 62% of these teachers have graduate degrees, about half are Special Education or ELL certified, and around 40% identify as people of color, and all teachers are rigorously vetted and monitored. Tutored by Teachers states a mission to close the opportunity gap by serving high-need students with personalized virtual instruction delivered by highly qualified and diverse teachers.
School districts and charter schools across the country partner with Tutored by Teachers for outcomes-focused virtual instruction, and the Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators has vetted the program and listed it on their website. In Fall 2023, Tutored by Teachers served more than 1,600 Indianapolis Public Schools Emerging Schools students, and in one semester with 12 hours of instruction, those students showed double-digit NWEA MAP gains. Tutored by Teachers is a selected vendor that exceeds the Michigan Department of Education criteria for grant funding, and its programs are eligible for Learning Recovery Act, CARES Act, Title I, and Title III funding.

These testimonials reference NWEA scores, alignment and communication with school staff, the accessibility of the learning model, support for students who were falling behind, reduced workload for classroom teachers, and student investment in the program.
