Volume Performance Center Recreational Dance Program offers recreational dance classes along with birthday parties, Parent Night Outs, movie nights, and fall, spring, and holiday recitals. Volume Performance Center Recreational Dance Program is celebrating 17 seasons of making Indianapolis dance. The program’s mission states that it is called Volume because it believes dance should be bold, powerful, and full of energy, like turning the music all the way up, and that the name reflects a mission to amplify every dancer’s voice, movement, and confidence on and off the stage. The program notes that it puts children first while maintaining high standards in both technique and character development, maintains a welcoming environment where families feel at home, uses modest costuming and age-appropriate music that reflect values of integrity and respect for childhood, and is committed to nurturing both the art of dance and the mental well-being of every student while building confidence, community, and character in addition to teaching dance.
The program reports that its dancers have taken the stage at Universal Studios California, trained at Millennium Dance Complex, the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, and Broadway Dance Center, and have been featured on NBC’s Today Show. Volume Performance Center started in Carmel, Indiana and later spent a decade in Nora’s Northview Mall before relocating to 5122 East 65th Street in June 2025. Volume Dance Wear, the in-house dance store, offers leotards, tights, jazz pants, shorts, and dance shoes in all sizes and styles for class or performance.
