About
Studio b Dance Programs offers instructional dance classes that include ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop. The program blends classical techniques with modern training methods in its dance instruction. Studio b describes its classes as “More Than Just Great Dancing!®” and notes that they focus on life skills such as respect, confidence, and conscientiousness.
• Ages: 2–18 years old
• Schedule: Doors at each studio open 15 minutes before the first class and lock 5 minutes after class has started, following Studio b’s “Studio b Way” safety-first door-locking procedures.
Studio b opened in January 2014 under the leadership of owner and founder Brooke Hardebeck. Its mission is “to inspire, uplift, and empower through the art of movement.” Studio b describes itself as Greater Lafayette’s leading dance studio and as a community of people with common interests, goals, and dreams, and it notes that many dancers experience it as a second home where they feel supported, encouraged, and inspired. The program states that its classes are designed to motivate, develop, and inspire people of all ages and that its core values include being community-minded, purpose driven, committed, humble, and continuously evolving.
Studio b is a proud member of the MORE Than Just Great Dancing!® community. It reports that its studios feature sprung and marley floors. Studio b has been named Small Business of the Year by the Greater Lafayette Commerce and recognized through the J&C Readers’ Choice Awards as the Area’s Best Dance Studio since 2014, as well as in categories such as Best Exercise/Workout Facility (2016 and 2017), Best Customer Service (2017), Best Workplace with Fewer Than 99 Employees (2015 and 2017), and Best Birthday Venue (2017). The program received the Class Act Studio Award at the Revolution Talent Competition in Indianapolis in 2020 and was the ADCC Studio of Excellence Winner at the Rainbow Dance Competition in Chicago in 2019. Studio b states that it honors its role in the greater community by nurturing kind-hearted, giving students who make a difference.
