The School of Self Defense

The School of Self Defense offers Kenpo Kids for children starting at age 7. The program also includes adult martial arts classes, private martial arts lessons, group events, Distance Learning Program, and Silver Dragons for ages 55+.

About the provider

The School of Self Defense was founded in 2008. Michael Valenti is the founder and head instructor. The school focuses on real-world self defense, including stand fighting, ground fighting, situational awareness, conflict de-escalation, and local law. Michael Valenti is a 25+ year veteran of the martial arts world and holds credentials including Founder of Kenpo 360, Certified Instructor of Jeet Kune Do Concepts, Associate Professor of Kenpo, Senior Instructor in Wing Chun Kung Fu, Level 1 Instructor in DDP Yoga, 2-time Battle of the Midwest Gold Medalist, 2020 Mu Lan International Kung Fu Gold Medalist, IOMAC Gold Medalist, 5th Degree Black Belt in Kenpo, 4th Degree Black Belt in Judo, and Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
