About

YMCA Youth Basketball Programs include Youth Basketball Rec leagues, All City Basketball Leagues, All-Girls Basketball, Travel Basketball Leagues, and a Developmental Basketball Clinic. Participants take part in interactive skill development and various skill drills that improve agility and sharpen practice skills. YMCA basketball clinics use positive reinforcement, skill development, and coach interaction to develop a “love” of the sport.

• Schedule: Clinic times, dates and lengths vary.

All YMCA Youth Sports participants order their uniform directly from the YMCA vendor, and the purchase of a game jersey is required for each participant, with shorts available as an optional purchase. Participants are only required to order a uniform once over the next two years, and uniforms can be reused from season to season depending on the sport. Families receive jerseys in the mail from Augusta Sports within 3–5 days. Youth Basketball Rec leagues ensure every player gets equal time on the court, are guided by dedicated parent volunteers, and foster a spirit of teamwork and enjoyment in a non-competitive environment. All City Basketball Leagues offer the opportunity to compete at the highest level across the Greater Indianapolis area, and players may need to travel to local YMCAs for certain sessions or matches. Participants in Travel Basketball Leagues play games at other YMCA locations, and previous basketball experience is necessary for the Travel League. YMCA Girls Basketball is a place for all girls to learn skills and have a chance to compete in a fun, safe environment where all girls will have a chance to play. The YMCA Youth Basketball Leagues focus on skill development and the fundamentals of basketball, and athletes run through various skill drills that improve their agility and sharpen their practice skills. Basketball is described as offering kids a great form of exercise and nurturing team-building skills and a sense of community.

These sessions are led by expert coaches from partner organizations like TNBA and Futsal Indy. The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit.
