About

Mesa Kids Cooking School offers kids cooking classes that focus on cooking and baking in a kitchen studio scaled specifically for children. The program also connects to hands-on adult classes through its sister company, where chefs teach in a kitchen studio setting.

• Ages: 5–15 years old

Mesa Kids Cooking School operates in a dedicated kids’ kitchen that includes individual cooking stations with small burners, pots, pans, utensils, three refrigerators, and five ovens, with most equipment scaled down for children ages 5 to 15. The classrooms are described as bright, clean, and safe, with lockers and coat racks available for students. The school’s mission states that it aims to ignite a lifelong passion for cooking and nourish creativity in children, treating the kitchen as a dynamic classroom where they can explore the art and science of cooking and baking in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. The curriculum is taught in a kid-focused kitchen studio using both old world and modern techniques, and emphasizes hands-on learning in cooking, baking, kitchen safety, nutritional knowledge, collaboration, communication, teamwork, and appreciation for global cuisines.

Mesa Kids Cooking School began in 2017 under the leadership of Chef Liz Martino in a kitchen studio scaled just for kids and was born under the sister company Mesa A Live Dining Show, where community chefs showcase their culinary skills by providing 3–4 course dinners and teaching hands-on adult classes. The leadership and instructional team includes Owner & Culinary Director Liz Martino; Administrator & Event Coordinator Paula Marler; Marketing & Advertising Coordinator Kaitlyn Marler; Instructors Keerah Turner, Mattea Marler, Stephanie Baetes, and Sara Leuthold; Instructor Assistants Ayame Boyce, Ella Kennedy, Angelina Sainte; and Instructor Assistant & Special Education Advisor Mallory Grantz. All educators are trained professionals with specialized training in culinary arts and hold Safe Serve Certifications. The school reports a 5-star rating for its curriculum and a 5-star rating voted and trusted by parents, and Chef Liz Martino is described as an award-winning chef with over 15 years of culinary experience.
