The Bradford Swim Club & Recreation Center

The Bradford Swim Club & Recreation Center offers Parent Toddler, Level 1: Intro to Water Skills, Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills, Level 3: Stroke Development, Level 4: Stroke Improvement, Level 5: Stroke Refinement, and Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency. It also offers Lifeguard Training and Dive lessons.

Programs

• Parent Toddler — young children
• Level 1: Intro to Water Skills — Orient young children to the aquatic environment to help them acquire rudimentary levels of basic skills. Students will learn how to feel comfortable in water and safely enjoy it.
• Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills — Children will learn basic swimming skills.
• Level 3: Stroke Development — Additional guided practice will help students improve their skills.
• Level 4: Stroke Improvement — Kids will gain confidence during swim lessons, improve their stroke and gain additional aquatic skills.
• Level 5: Stroke Refinement — Guidance allows kids to refine their strokes and become more efficient swimmers.
• Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency — Learn to swim with ease and efficiency, and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances. Swimmers will also have the option to participate in more advanced courses.
• Lifeguard Training — BSC will offer Lifeguard recertification and Lifeguard training programs. Details for both programs will be announced soon.
• Dive lessons — Dive lessons schedule: TBD.

At a glance

• Ages: 0–18 years old
• General schedule: The Swim and Dive lesson season runs approximately 6 weeks with (2) 30 minute classes per week.
• Facility hours: Seasonal Hours Preseason (Memorial Day through the last day of HPS): M-F 3:30pm to 6:30pm; S-S 11am to 8pm. Regular Season (through Labor Day): M-F 11am to 8pm; S-S 11am to 8pm.

About the provider

The Bradford Swim Club says its programs began in 1965. It describes itself as a volunteer-driven club that offers Red Cross instructional swim lessons, a competitive swim and dive team, and events and activities for the entire family.
