Children Across America offers engaging, free programs that focus on literacy and math skills for grades K–5 and promotes green education for a sustainable future. The organization also runs health promotion efforts that focus on access to quality healthcare for children across America and supports education through backpack and school supply donation drives. All services are 100% volunteer-driven, and the organization follows a “Safe Harbor” policy that requires at least two adults to supervise each child.

Children Across America has almost 2 decades of action empowering underserved children nationwide through education and healthcare initiatives, with 19 years in action. The mission of the organization is to empower children through education and healthcare access, transforming their futures for the better. Leadership includes Renata I., who has served as Operations Manager since November 2011, and Creative Director Vanessa Hobson. The organization states that it turns its back on no one and treats the Blackstone Valley community as family.

One parent, Isabella A., reports that her son attended the Summer STREAM Club and that his reading and math grades improved from Ds and Fs to Bs, and that he is no longer in ELL. A first grade teacher, Maria P., reports that she can tell when a child has been in the Summer program and that those children arrive prepared for school with a new backpack and needed supplies. Operations Manager Renata I. describes the organization as remaining true to its mission, being 100% volunteer-driven, and focusing on literacy, healthy eating habits, and preventative health measures. Another parent, Anne D., reports that Children Across America has helped hundreds of children struggling in school to develop English skills and improve test grades, notes that services are free and that the staff are very good with the children, and appreciates the “Safe Harbor” policy requiring at least two adults to supervise each child.
