About

Hipstitch Sewing Camps and Classes offers Evening Workshops, Summer Camps, Parent Child classes, Fashion Classes, and a monthly SEW SOCIAL BYOP (Bring your own Project). Participants can work on sashiko to mend clothes, embroidery, cross stitch, felting, and punch needle projects. The monthly SEW SOCIAL BYOP is set up for people to bring their own projects and meet other creatives, fiber artists, and sewists.

The leadership team includes Nicola Day (Owner & Founder), Eva Ringquist (Newton Manager), Amanda Wagreich (Wellesley Manager), and Luna Tudor-Doonan (Graphic Designer and Social Media Coordinator, Brookline Manager). Nicola Day began sewing her own clothes around age 11 and developed a line of purses that she sold in boutiques across the U.S. Eva Ringquist graduated from UMass Boston with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Amanda attended Lasell University, where she received a degree in Fashion Design and Production. The program’s stated vision is to redefine sewing and crafts as hip, youthful, and fashion forward for today’s creative generation, with a focus on people of all ages learning sewing and crafts and on the creative and collaborative potential of crafting. The mission also states that art should be fun for both students and teachers, and describes an atmosphere for students of all ages to feel comfortable expressing creativity, meeting new friends, and creating memories.
