MIT All Sports Summer Day Camp
MIT Recreation / Zesiger Center, 120 Vassar St, Cambridge, MA 2139
About
MIT All Sports Summer Day Camp is part of the MIT Summer Day Camp program run by MIT Recreation and the MIT Department of Athletics, Physical Education & Recreation. The camp uses a variety of MIT athletic and recreation facilities, including the Zesiger Center, Alumni/Wang, Wood Sailing Pavilion, Pierce Boathouse, the Tennis Bubble, and outdoor tennis courts.
• Ages: 6–13 years old
MIT Summer Day Camp has been operating since 1960. Many former campers have later returned as counselors and as parents sending their children to the camp. The camp is a member of the Massachusetts Camp Association.
As a member of the Massachusetts Camp Association, the program hires qualified staff who share in its mission to value diversity and develop social, physical, personal and life skills. As of Summer 2025, there will be changes to the program that include updates to pickup and drop-off, no buddy requests, and required health profile completion. In 2025, the program theme is described as “Exploring Recreation.”
The tennis bubble is closed until further notice due to weather-related damage, and current reservations for that space are cancelled, with updates on its condition provided on the website and through social media channels. Monthly tours and information sessions are offered at the Zesiger Center on the second Wednesday of each month. A related initiative, getfit, is being rebuilt by MIT Recreation as a campus community initiative.
One shared testimonial connected to the program states, “Recreation helps me relieve stress and anxiety.”
