About
Teen Classes introduce participants to cooking classes and baking-focused classes in a hands-on format. Offerings include Techniques of Cooking, Techniques of Baking, Cooking Couples, Regional Series, Advanced Pastry Classes, CSCA Workshops & Favorites, Seasonal Classes, and With a Splash of Wine. Baking-focused classes send students home with the goodies they created instead of a sit-down meal, and classes are typically capped at 12 participants for small-group instruction.
• Ages: 8–17 years old
• Schedule: Teen classes are offered during the summer months and school vacations; each immersive regional series is six weeks long, and individual classes are on average 3 to 4 hours.
Cambridge School of Culinary Arts has been operating for 50 years and is highly acclaimed among the nation’s premier culinary schools. Classes are taught under the guidance of skilled Chef Instructors and take place in professional and commercial kitchens. CSCA supplies everything for class, and students may bring a notebook and, for series classes such as Techniques of Cooking I or II, may bring their own knife set. Students in pastry-focused classes often go home with a box of treats and may bring a reusable tote bag, with CSCA totes available for $2. CSCA recommends closed-toe shoes and appropriate dress, does not allow shorts, tank tops, or open-toed shoes, provides an apron for use during class, and does not allow students to bring alcohol. Online classes are available on demand and at the student’s own pace, and private events such as family reunions and corporate team building are also offered. The cooking classes aim to provide a distinctive experience that combines education, enjoyment, and delectable cuisine, and students have the opportunity to explore exciting culinary trends while participating in events taking place in the greater Boston area.
