Mini Camp is a full-day program for ages 5–6 that includes instructed gymnastics, swimming lessons, craft time, outdoor play, snack time, and a short rest time each day, and it runs Monday through Friday without an extended day option. Gymnastic Camp for ages 7 and up focuses on gymnastics, close friendships, pool use, and an easy-going summer vibe without weekly themes. Kids Club Camp for ages 7 and up offers themed weeks and a variety of activities such as gym activities, swim, crafts, and science, and Dance Camp for ages 5 and up is a full-day, five-day-a-week program with themed weeks like Princess Dance Camp, Wicked Week, Taylor Swift Dance, and Summer Dance Camp. Gigueres offers summer swim lessons that focus on safety and fun, including two two-week intensive swim programs with lessons Monday through Thursday and open swim on Fridays, with the option for the Friday open swim to become a lesson if a class is canceled due to weather. The pool water is heated to between 82 and 86 degrees, and the pool area includes an observation area with full viewing of the pool and deck, comfortable chairs and umbrellas, and multiple curtained changing rooms and bathroom facilities. All swim instructors are fully certified lifeguards and are trained in house by advanced staff.
Gigueres is a family-owned business established in 1973 and has been open and family owned for more than 50 years. It provides programming for students from 15 months through adult, has its own preschool on the property, and offers twelve distinct programs for children and their families, including high quality programs in gymnastics and dance, summer programs, swim, camps, and after school care. Gigueres was one of the first gymnastics training schools in the area and has a dance program that gained national recognition through successful athletes. The business was founded by Joanne Giguere, and later purchased in 1987 by her son David along with business partner Paul McCarthy.
The Gigueres mission is summarized as “Building the Champion Within,” with stated goals for kids, parents, and staff that emphasize a quality facility, challenging programs, and a positive learning environment based on mutual respect, patience, honesty, and synergistic attitudes. Camp programs are certified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the local board of health. Gigueres is recognized in two categories of the Best of Central Massachusetts Community’s Choice Awards: Gigueres – Summer Camp and Discovery – Child Care.
