About

Camp Metacomet offers activities such as archery, sports, adventure challenge, rock climbing, arts and crafts, swimming, and team-oriented games. Campers can also take part in crafts like tie dye and friendship bracelet weaving, as well as drama activities that include learning lines and building sets and props. Additional options include cultivating and harvesting flowers, herbs, and vegetables, and cooking meals using the farm bounty.

• Ages: 9–14 years old
• Schedule: Camp hours are 9:00am–4:00pm, with extended care available 7:00–9:00am and 4:00–5:00pm

Camp Metacomet includes traditional camp activities along with specialty camps in arts, cooking, sports, and engineering. The Specialty Camp curriculum is described as carefully designed to deliver well-rounded programming and incorporate experiential learning, and these Specialty Camps are for ages 9–14 only. Craft Lovers Camp focuses on classic camp crafts such as tie dye and friendship bracelets, Farm to Table camp involves cultivating and harvesting flowers, herbs, and vegetables and using them to make a meal, and Drama camp week concludes with a theatrical production.

YMCA Southcoast states that its mission is to improve the spiritual, mental, social, educational, and physical conditions of all persons, and that at the Y, strengthening community is its cause. YMCA Southcoast reports that it has been working to provide health and social services to thousands of youth, families, and individuals throughout the Southcoast region for over 160 years.
