The Spencer-East Brookfield program’s leadership includes Assistant Area Manager Keyonzia Gagne-Lamoureux, who supports Spencer-East Brookfield, Northbridge, and Harvard. The program states that experienced, caring, and licensed staff follow all procedures and regulations related to a licensed child care program, including fingerprinted background checks, extensive training on operating a safe and inclusive program, training to support children with special needs, and training in emergency procedures and drills that align with each school and district. Staff are trained in first aid including CPR, airborne illnesses, and epi-pen administration.
The program states that every student participates in enrichment activities every day at no additional charge, and that snacks, homework help, recreation, and student-choice clubs are provided to every student. A daily snack is provided, and students are welcome to bring their own nut-free snacks from home if they prefer. The program states that all surfaces are cleaned before and after snack, students wash hands prior to eating and at other designated times, and staff clean all surfaces regularly. Staff are described as always immediately visible for school administration, parents, and students, and can be recognized by an AlphaBEST identification badge and branded t-shirt. AlphaBEST states that it believes in creating learning environments where all children are welcome, including children with special needs, and that it employs a tiered system of supports called Creating Connected Communities, where all students actively participate in building the foundation for the after-school community, including discussing the importance of their community, the rules, and respecting and welcoming each other.
AlphaBEST states that it provides before and after school care, day camps, specialty enrichment camps, summer-long programs, Exploration workshops, online AlphaAcademy, and Summer Camp. The program notes that tuition is based on the number of school days in the academic calendar year and does not bill for holidays and other planned school days off, and that the total tuition for the academic year is divided into equal weekly or monthly payments. AlphaBEST Education is described as an equal opportunity employer and provider, and the organization notes that it takes pride in the relationships it builds with students, parents, district staff, its own staff, and local communities.
