About
Williston Summers includes Camp Wildcat, Wildcat Sports, and Wildcat Theater, with activities such as sports and games, arts & crafts, and swimming. Camp Wildcat is a day camp that offers an extensive range of sports and games, arts & crafts, and other classic summer activities. Wildcat Sports and Wildcat Theater add options focused on athletics and youth theater.
• Ages: 5–16 years old
• Schedule: Each one-week session of Wildcat Sports Camp focuses on a different sport
Camp Wildcat is a day camp for kids age 5–15. Wildcat Sports is geared towards campers ages 12–15, and each one-week session focuses on a different sport. Campers in Wildcat Sports work on fundamental skills and teamwork with some of Williston’s longtime coaches. Wildcat Theater is a daytime youth theater program open to campers age 13–16, and it introduces campers to all the elements of theater in a fun and creative way. Though each Wildcat Theater session can be attended on its own, the program is structured so that campers who attend multiple sessions do new things each week. Wildcat Theater aims to nurture each camper’s personal growth so they leave camp feeling more confident and connected to their families and communities, and it is committed to building a vibrant community of young artists who support one another year-round and throughout their lives.
Camp Wildcat provides a learning environment staffed by enthusiastic, knowledgeable counselors and instructors. The overall summer programs are led by Camp Director Kevin Burke ’00. The Williston Northampton School states that its mission is to inspire students to live with purpose, passion, and integrity. Williston Summers is described as the Pioneer Valley’s top destination for summer fun. The camp complies with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) and is licensed by the local board of health (LBOH).
Williston Summers builds on a summer partnership with The Easthampton Theater Company and the demand created by their Summer Nights Program through the introduction of Wildcat Theater, a daytime youth theater program. Williston has a long history of supporting the City of Easthampton, and the school’s administration and board of trustees state a commitment to providing financial assistance to local groups and to sharing the school’s facilities with local organizations that can benefit from this use whenever possible. The program materials indicate continuous operation under the Williston Summers umbrella from 2013–2026.
