About

Applewild Summer Program takes place at Applewild School and follows the school’s regular daily hours. The program runs during the day with structured time that matches the school schedule.

• Ages: 2–14 years old
• Schedule: Applewild School hours are 8:00AM–3:45PM.

Applewild Summer Program is part of an independent, co-ed junior boarding and day school that serves students from toddler through grade 9. The school includes an Applewild Foundations language-based program, a commitment to project-based learning, and a metacognitive academic approach focused on planning, monitoring, and reflecting on learning. The school states that its mission is to empower students to realize their full potential by providing a nurturing environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and personal growth, and notes that school takes place beyond the classroom as it uses the community to expand its campus.

The program is connected to a leadership team that includes Head of School Amy Jolly and Amanda Packard, Ed.D., who leads the faculty and supervises all teaching and learning. Packard received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College, Columbia University, her MAT at Sacred Heart University, and her doctorate in educational leadership at Northeastern. Leonardo Hiertz, a member of the residential life team and advancement professional, completed his studies at the Beethoven Conservatory and earned his master’s in music from the Yale School of Music as a Fulbright Scholar. Gregory Miller, Director of Admissions, attended the University of Delaware for his undergraduate degree in business and St. Lawrence University for his master’s degree in educational leadership. The 2024–2025 Executive Board includes President William Aubuchon ’92, Vice President Lucy Abisalih ’73, Treasurer Christine Emma, and Secretary David Zeiler.
