The Sandwich Recreation Department’s mission is to offer quality, diverse, affordable, and inclusive recreational and leisure opportunities that enhance the citizen’s quality of life while promoting health, happiness and community engagement. The department oversees fresh and saltwater beaches, museums, community events and recreational facilities. The leadership team includes Recreation Director Tricia MacDonald, Assistant Recreation Director Amelia Finerty, and Director of Operations for Community Services Guy Boucher. The department works with a full time staff of three employees, two year-round part-time personnel, and over 100 seasonal staff and volunteers, with the support of other town departments. Oak Crest Cove Park is home to a one of a kind community designed skate park, two regulation sized tennis courts, and six pickle ball courts. The Recreation Department has a new registration system, and families must create a household account to make a reservation.
