Hockomock Area YMCA Youth Programs and Camps offers child care and early learning programs, day camps, specialty camps, and Camp Adventure, along with activities such as swim, sports, recreation, arts and enrichment, and leadership programs. The program also includes academic enrichment programs, well-being and fitness programs, friends and family time programs, teen memberships, and youth programs during school vacation weeks such as February Vacation Programs & Care and a March Basketball (YBL) Extension. • Schedule: On Monday, Jan. 26, group exercise classes run in the evening between 5:15pm and 8:00pm, indoor pool activities including family swim, lap swim, practices, and swim programs run between 12:00pm and 9:00pm, and gym activities including drop-in pickleball, gymnastics programming, youth programs, and open court times run between 11:00am and 9:00pm; on that day, YMCA branches open at 12:00pm and child care, School’s Out No School Fun Day, and paid and unpaid programs also begin at 12:00pm.
The Hockomock Area YMCA states that it is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Its community involvement includes fundraising and community events that bring together members, donors, volunteers, and community leaders to raise awareness about its most pressing issues. The organization notes that when someone gives to the Y, that support funds programs that serve children, adults, and families in the United States and around the world. The YMCA also offers a Y Rewards program, a free 6‑month teen membership option for Franklin residents, and notes that Dean College will provide a $41,500 scholarship to a high school senior who is active with the YMCA.
