About

North Shore Nature Programs offers hands-on, inquiry-based programs and nature camps that focus on education rooted in nature. Trained naturalists lead innovative classroom experiences rich with hands-on learning, highlight the interconnectedness of the ecological environment, and teach children to discover natural wonders in their own backyard. The program offers a warm, welcoming, and caring space where children can explore their natural surroundings, gain knowledge and skills about the outdoors, and experience structured outdoor adventures in a fun and safe environment.

• Ages: 6–15 years old

North Shore Nature Programs started in 2013 and serves the North Shore community with nature-based education in Beverly, Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Hamilton, Middleton, Newbury, North Andover, Topsfield, Wenham, West Newbury, and surrounding areas. The program offers options for public and private schools, students, families, and small groups, including homeschool, early release, vacation, and after-school programs. Its mission states that environmental education is the key to instilling a love of nature in adults and children and to cultivating lifelong stewardship of the planet, with a vision of fostering a generation that understands the balance between humans and the planet and makes informed decisions for the betterment of all life. Founder Andrew Prazar has thousands of hours spent in the field, 15 years of career experience, and a Master’s in Environmental Education from the University of New Hampshire, and Program Director Cori Bourdon has over 10 years of experience in environmental education, a Master’s in Wildlife Conservation from the University of Vermont, and serves on the board of the Massachusetts Environmental Education Society.
