North Shore Nature Programs

North Shore Nature Programs offers summer camp, student programs, school programs, homeschool field trips, after school adventures, and vacation days for children ages 5 to 14. Camp activities include hiking, learning about creatures and their habitats, arts and crafts, teambuilding, survival basics, play, photography, cooking, canoeing, off-road biking, and wood crafting. Homeschool Field Trips are not drop off programs, and an adult must be present for the entire program.

Programs

• Summer Camp — 6-8 entering 1st-3rd grades; 9-11 entering 4th-6th grades; 12-14 entering 7th-9th grades · Up to 6 weeks at Camp Hood or up to 8 weeks at Camp Denison; 9am-3pm; 4pm pickup option at Camp Denison; 12 campers, 2 counselors
• Student Programs — Ages 6-12 · Afterschool, homeschool, early release, vacation, and after-school programs
• School Programs — 5+ visits/classroom for Naturalist-in-Residence Program; 60-minute enrichment programs
• Homeschool Field Trips — Recommended for ages 5 to 12 though younger and older siblings are welcome · Thursdays, 10am-12pm · $25 per day
• After School Adventures — Ages 6-12 · 3:30-5:00pm; Falls 2026; Thursdays listed for Camp Denison (Georgetown, MA) · $300 per session
• Vacation Days — Ages 6-11 years old · April 21-24, 9am-3pm · $100 per day

About the provider

North Shore Nature Programs started in 2013. The mission is to provide education rooted in nature and to invite children to get outside and experience exploring, roaming, and relaxing into who they are. The founder, Andrew Prazar, has a Master’s in Environmental Education from UNH, and Program Director Cori Bourdon has a Master’s in Wildlife Conservation from the University of Vermont. The organization serves Beverly, Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Hamilton, Middleton, Newbury, North Andover, Topsfield, Wenham, West Newbury, and surrounding areas.

Summer camps comply with the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and are licensed by Georgetown and Topsfield Boards of Health. Intentionally small groups are described as 12 campers with 2 counselors. Summer camps include a 4pm pickup option at Camp Denison.
