Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill offers after school programs, teen programs, summer camp, youth sports leagues, arts activities, and sports, fitness and recreation. The program also includes activities in character and leadership development, health and life skills, and education and career development, as well as shoe repair.

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill opened in 1900 as the 40th Boys Club in the United States and was unofficially founded in 1897. The building is more than 120 years old and has fed, taught and raised the youth of Haverhill, serving over 75,000 youths in the past 125 years and celebrating 125 years of history in 2025. On January 22, 1906, the Club was incorporated in the State of Massachusetts and became affiliated with the Federation Boys Clubs of America, and in 1986 it became affiliated with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. As of January 5, 2009, services opened to all youth 6–18 years old regardless of gender. The Club states that it is for everyone, no matter where a young person comes from, what they look like, or how they identify, and that it welcomes and celebrates everyone. The organization reports having over 20 youth development programs, thanks its sponsors, and notes 125 years of service to the community. Its mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
