Hudson Recreation Youth Basketball

Hudson Recreation Youth Basketball offers co-ed kindergarten and grade 1 basketball clinics with age-appropriate drills and fun games focused on learning and basketball fundamentals. It also offers co-ed grade 2 basketball that builds on fundamentals and introduces game situations on an 8-foot basket. The program includes girls and boys basketball for grades 2-4 with regulation games on a 9-foot basket, a scorekeeper, and a certified referee, plus boys and girls teams for grades 5-8 that participate in the Nashoba Youth Basketball League (NYBL).

Programs

• Co-Ed Kindergarten & Grade 1 — Children currently in Kindergarten or 1st grade · Weekly 50-minute clinic on Saturdays for 8 weeks · Age-appropriate drills and fun games focused on learning and building basketball fundamentals.
• Co-Ed Grade 2 — Children currently in 2nd grade · Builds on fundamentals and introduces players to game situations on an 8' basket.
• Girls Grades 2-4 — Children currently in 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade · Regulation games on a 9' basketball with a scorekeeper and a certified referee.
• Boys Grades 3-4 — Children currently in 3rd or 4th grade · Regulation games on a 9' basketball with a scorekeeper and a certified referee.
• Boys Grades 5-6 — Children currently in 5th or 6th grade · Teams participate in the Nashoba Youth Basketball League (NYBL).
• Girls Grades 5-6 — Children currently in 5th or 6th grade · Teams participate in the Nashoba Youth Basketball League (NYBL).
• Boys Grades 7-8 — Children currently in 7th or 8th grade · Teams participate in the Nashoba Youth Basketball League (NYBL).
• Girls Grades 7-8 — Children currently in 7th or 8th grade · Teams participate in the Nashoba Youth Basketball League (NYBL).
• Unified Basketball — Children/young adults · Starts in late November · Designed to offer a collaborative yet competitive, skill-based interactive social learning experience for participants regardless of developmental challenges.

About the provider

The program runs between late October and February 13th. Its mission is to promote basketball fundamentals, fun, and exercise. The success of the programs is due in large part to the commitment of staff and volunteers.

All Basketball Programs are open to Hudson Residents and/or Children who attend Hudson Public Schools. Registration for Grades 5-8 closes on October 11th. Registration for all other grades will open in October. Starting with the 2025-2026 basketball season, teams in the Boys and Girls Grades 5-6 divisions and Boys and Girls Grades 7-8 divisions will participate in the Nashoba Youth Basketball League (NYBL).
