For over 30 years, Mad Science has provided innovative, hands-on children's science programs to communities, and Mad Science of Western New England follows this model with curriculum-correlated workshops that are aligned to STEM objectives and, in many cases, correlated to state standards and meeting or going beyond state and provincial standard requirements. Many workshops include a Mad Scientist Teacher Resource Guide with pre-and-post activities, and workshops can be adapted to school curriculum to promote an inquiry-based learning environment, with ideal group sizes of about 20 preschool children and up to 25 elementary-school children (21 for standard pricing). Instructors are described as well-trained and animated, and the organization states that it follows COVID guidelines and/or best practices in place at the time of its programs.

Awesome Summer Activity Weeks are available to schedule at many locations throughout Western New England, including hands-on half and full day summer activity weeks with exciting topics, and in the summer the program runs a series correlated with the theme of each year's library summer reading program. Spectacular shows and interactive discovery centers can serve groups from 30 to more than 300 children, and special seasonal Halloween and December Holiday shows are also offered. Programs are available for schools, libraries, scout programs, community centers, summer camps, family gatherings, corporate events, and library summer reading programs, and the organization describes its children’s events as hassle-free, adaptable, and action-packed, like taking a field trip without leaving the classroom, home, or library.

The mission of Mad Science of Western New England Workshops and Camps is to foster a love for science, technology, engineering and math at a young age so that children gain confidence in these fields. Testimonials from teachers and schools report that children were entertained, amused, and engaged during workshops, that workshops sparked interest and thinking in topics such as forces, and that one school saw an increase from 68 percent to 91 percent of students meeting the standard in science after Mad Science workshops.
