About

Appleton Farm Camp includes performing essential barnyard chores like feeding, brushing, and mucking stalls, planting, watering, and weeding vegetables and herbs in the Learning Garden, and assisting farmers with projects and tasks. Campers take part in hiking adventures throughout forests and fields, explore the woodlands and wetlands and discover wildlife, and do farm-themed arts and crafts and science experiments. The program also includes creating yummy treats as part of the camp experience.

• Ages: 4–17 years old
• Schedule: Half-day and full-day weekly sessions with options from June 22 through August 21, including an extended day option
• Price: Half Day for Ages 4–6 (9AM–12PM): Trustees Member Camper: $340/week; Nonmember Camper: $420/week. Full Day for Ages 5–13 (9AM–3PM): Trustees Member Camper: $555/week; Nonmember Camper: $635/week. Extended Day Option (3–4PM): $85/week. Junior CITs for Age 14 (9AM–3PM): Trustees Member: $370/week; Nonmember: $450/week. Trustees Family Members receive an $80 discount per camper for each week of camp.

Appleton Farm Camp is led by Camp Director Michael Walker. The program is inspired by The Trustees’ expertise in nature conservation, historic landscapes, regenerative agriculture, and culinary exploration, and includes a Junior CIT program for age 14 and a CIT program for ages 15–17. Appleton Farm Camp complies with all regulations required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and is licensed by the Ipswich Board of Health. Appleton Farms is a property of The Trustees, a member-supported nonprofit organization that protects and cares for 27,000 acres across Massachusetts, and Trustees Family Members receive an $80 discounted tuition rate for each camper for each week of camp along with free or discounted admission at 120+ special places, program discounts, and special event pre-sales all year round. Payment plans are available, and financial assistance is available and awarded on a rolling basis as space and funds allow.

One parent shared that “Emmett can’t stop talking about Appleton Farm camp and how he wishes he could go back for another week,” calling it his favorite camp of the summer. Another parent said their child came home “full of joy and enthusiasm” and talked about hiking, searching for the Appleton family’s treasure, and making crafts, and noted that “the counselors were incredibly imaginative and engaged.” A third parent said, “The counselors made my child very motivated and excited to go back each day.” To register, families need annual physical and immunization forms, emergency and pick up contact information, camper insurance policy and doctor contact, credit card or eCheck information, and a membership number and expiration date if applicable.
