The mission of the program is to empower children through education and healthcare access. All services are 100% volunteer-driven. The Operations Manager for Children Across America is Renata I. The program is dedicated to building literacy, promoting healthy eating habits, and raising awareness of preventative health measures, and treats the Blackstone Valley community as family. The program follows a Safe Harbor policy that requires at least two adults to supervise each child.
One parent, Isabella A., reports that her son attended the Summer STREAM Club and that his reading and math grades improved from Ds and Fs to Bs, and that he is no longer in ELL. A first grade teacher, Maria P., states that she can tell when a child has been in the Summer program and that those children arrive prepared for school with a new backpack and needed supplies. Operations Manager Renata I. states that the organization remains true to its mission, is 100% volunteer-driven, and focuses on literacy, healthy eating habits, and preventative health measures for children and families. Another parent, Anne D., states that Children Across America has helped hundreds of children struggling in school to develop English skills and improve test grades, that the services are free, that the staff is very good with the children, and that she values the Safe Harbor policy requiring at least two adults to supervise each child.
