About the provider

Founded in 2006, Bourne Community Boating’s primary program is an 8-week youth summer sailing and marine science school. Its leadership team includes Josh Leg, President of the Board; Sue Belekewicz, Executive Director; and Leah Cody, Head Istructor. The program is one of fewer than 50 schools officially accredited by the US’s Community Sailing Organization and is a licensed Powerboating Training Center. It works to introduce the year-round, full-time resident youth population of Bourne to sailing, boating, and marine science in a friendly, fun, and inclusive environment.

What families say

“This is my kids' 2nd year involved, and they are just so excited and come home with great new knowledge. Everyone is friendly and helpful. This is a great opportunity for the kids to learn something about Cape Life!” — Stella Sicina

“I was kayaking in Monument Beach recently and a couple of the instructors from Bourne Community Boating helped me out of a pretty dangerous situation. For that alone, I'd give them five stars! But I also had the chance to watch these instructors leading a group of kids and helping them learn safe, and fun swimming skills! Also, connecting with the environment around them!” — Lorelei Erisis
