About
Bourne Community Boating offers a summer youth sailing school and a youth summer sailing and marine science school that includes marine science education. The program also offers adult and family sailing lessons, Adult Sailing, Adaptive Sailing, assisted sailing, Paddle-boarding, and Open Sailing. Its three pillars are the summer youth sailing school, the adult and family sailing lessons, and marine science education.

Founded in 2006, Bourne Community Boating focuses on many aspects of boating and marine education. The mission of Bourne Community Boating, Inc. is to provide an opportunity to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to enrich their lives through on-the-water educational and recreational experiences, and it especially tries to reach the year-round, full-time resident youth population of Bourne. The program works to introduce these students to sailing, boating and marine science in a friendly, fun and inclusive environment and is a community-based program for all. Bourne Community Boating is one of less than 50 schools officially accredited by the US’s Community Sailing Organization and is also a licensed Powerboating Training Center. The organization is committed to equity and social justice, follows the US Sailing mission to recognize diversity as essential to achieving its mission, and offers assisted sailing with two boats that have been adapted for sailors with physical disabilities.
