About

Camp Triumph is a therapeutic day camp where campers take part in group discussion, social skills training, self-regulation strategies, expressive arts activities, and behavioral coaching and support. Daily programming includes cooperative, non-competitive games, swimming, arts and crafts, team-building and recreational sports, theme days, and off-site field trips and activities.

Camp Triumph runs three periods in 2026: Period 1 from June 29 to July 17, Period 2 from July 20 to August 7, and Period 3 from August 10 to 21, and for the sake of group continuity, each camper is enrolled for at least one full period. Daily hours are 8:50–9:00 a.m. drop-off Monday through Friday, with pickup from 2:50–3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11:50 a.m.–12:00 p.m. on Friday. Parents and guardians are responsible for transportation to and from camp, and Camp Triumph provides transportation to and from camp-sponsored off-site activities.

The program is a specialized summer day program for children and adolescents and is open to participants regardless of sex, race, religion, ethnic background, or disability. Group sizes are up to 11–12 children per group with 3 counselors, for an approximate 4:1 camper-to-counselor ratio, in a highly structured environment with therapeutic group activities. Camp Triumph and Triumph Transitions (for ages 17–22) blend recreation, social and emotional skill-building, creative arts, and fun in a supportive environment, with evidence-based groups and services led by licensed clinicians.

Camp Triumph was founded in 1991 as a therapeutic summer program and has a 30-year legacy of helping children succeed socially and emotionally, and since 2021 it has operated in North Reading, Massachusetts. The camp is part of The Triumph Center, whose mission is focused on delivering comprehensive and evidence-based services to individuals, families, and institutions. The leadership team includes Camp Triumph Director Emily Barry, Ph.D., BCBA; Dr. Allison Jekogian; Dr. George Marinakis, Executive Director of The Triumph Center; Dr. Chris Anderson, Associate Director of The Triumph Center; and Mr. Tim Niemiec, LMHC, BCBA, LABA, Associate Director of The Triumph Center.

Counselors are trained in psychology, education, and social work, and staff members include professionals and students with training in clinical and counseling psychology, school psychology, social work, and regular and special education. The Triumph Center is staffed with licensed psychologists, BCBAs, and licensed clinicians who supervise camp staff. This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) and be licensed by the Board of Health.

A former camper shared that they remember camp clearly years later and, as a 19-year-old entering their senior year, credit experiences at Camp Triumph with helping them become fully integrated into school and excel there.
